I'm always thrilled anytime I find out something that seems impossible turns out to be very do-able after all.
Take crossing the Atlantic, for example. Until yesterday I'd always believed that 55 feet was about the smallest-sized powerboat that could (safely) cross the Atlantic. Then I found out that both crossing the Atlantic and trans-pacific passages can be done quite safely in a powerboat as small as 40 feet. In fact, it's done regularly.
Amazing.
Which just goes to show: ya gotta start with big expectations before you can dream of tackling the impossible and doing the biggest things.
