Tuesday

2:07am
My friends,
Today in A-town (Arusha) we are feeling a great loss for we who remain on this earth.  Our dear friend and colleague in the work here in Tanzania, Rev. Tom Foltz, went home to be with the Lord a little after 4 p.m. Tuesday, after a two month battle with pancreatic cancer.

I want to reiterate to you as I wrote a few months ago, that Tom and Joanne’s faith was and is strong.  They showed wonderful faith and peace at the prospects of the outcome of the cancer.  They taught our people in word and in deed that the faith of Jesus Christ is not fake, it’s real, and it is what we place our hope in.  We already know that Joanne’s desire is to return to Tanzania to continue with the work that they started together.  She is much needed and we will look forward to her return in due time.

Tom’s work and faith will be remembered here in Tanzania for longer than we can imagine.  We PRAISE the Lord that he is no longer in pain, and is indeed rejoicing with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Thank you all for your prayers for them over this period.  Please continue to pray with and for Joanne and her children, for their comfort.  God Bless you and give you peace this day.
Yours in Tanzania,
Vernon and Mary
